I love this magazine and though everyone should look at how beutiful it is. The whole magazine is worth buying because it has a lot of stuff to look at and read."In a cultural climate full of loud voices struggling to outdo each other, Acne Paper 5 whispers. Elegance is the theme here, the kind that never imposes itself, but instead exists as an effortless and instinctive attitude, as often found in contemporary Western Europe as amongst the Bedouins in the Sahara desert. Each issue of Acne Paper is created around one key idea – a timeless theme that in various ways touches all those working in the creative fields regardless of age, cultural background or social status. In an eclectic yet coherent mix of portrait, fashion and art photography, as well as interviews, memoirs and prose, the editorial narrative aims to unite artistic minds of all generations. It pays tribute to past luminaries whilst still keeping a firm grip on the present, evoking something timeless, something nostalgic yet refreshingly modern. By moving effortlessly between high and popular culture Acne Paper is a glamorous and intelligent magazine celebrating personality, authenticity and style."NO. 5NO. 6"Following the graceful and understated issue on elegance, the sixth issue of Acne Paper will deal with the timely topic of exoticism. Exoticism is known as the charm of the unfamiliar, and was popularised as a concept in the late 19th Century by painters such as Paul Gauguin with his much loved paintings of Tahitian women and landscapes. For Acne Paper exoticism is similarly a riot in colour, a dynamic vision sparkling with pizzazz."NO. 7Acne Paper Nº 7 opens and ends with an extraordinary portfolio: A pair of 15th century tapestries were recently restored by the Royal Manufacturers De Wit in Mechelen. These two hangings are probably the most important from the late Middle Ages to have survived. The 20 page presentation consists of fragments which render the grandeur of the tapestries, telling in great intricacy and detail the mythological lifespan of the Macedonian king Alexander. The portfolio is accompanied by a text written by two authorities on Burgundy tapestries, Anna Rapp Buri and Monica Stucky-Schürer.Other features in this issue includes: interviews with Nan Goldin, Dr. Valerie Steele, William Burlington, Richard Purdey, Rupert Thomas. Photographic work by Serge Leblon, Katerina Jebb and Richard Burbridge.NO.10"Can you imagine having lunch served by a king in a field of arabic tents in tangiers? Or boarding the train to venice with an 18th century ball gown and lots of diamonds in your suitcase? Or entering a grand Parisian staircase lit by a parade of exotically dressed african men holding flaming torches? Or having jerry hall sing dirty texan songs for you wearing nothing but hundreds of men’s ties? Or finding Marlene Dietrich under your stairs, asking where the bathroom is, and striking up a friendship that will last a lifetime? If you can, then you will enjoy the 10th anniversary issue of Acne Paper dedicated to the theme of Legendary Parties.A round number is always a good cause for celebration, so for our 10th anniversary issue we wanted to create a firework of an issue that rejoices in the art of celebration – the creativity, generosity, spectacle, imagination, and all the other wonderful ingredients that can make a party legendary.Social gatherings often reach greatness when an unexpected mix of people get along surprisingly well. That is why the theme of parties suits Acne Paper’s editorial raison d’être so perfectly well. Within the new covers of our magazine the most exciting personalities from the underground rub shoulders with the brightest of high society, and all the excitement of the now blends with the glamorous mystery of the past. Contributors include Deborah Cavendish, the Duchess of Devonshire, Graydon Carter, Alexander Wang, Jefferson Hack, Anne Slater, Stephen Jones, Bob Colacello and many more."
