This famous Norwegian artist is really one of my favorites, because it capture a poorer and more brutal part of life. He lived between August 13, 1852 – October 16, 1925 and was a naturalist painter, which pretty much means he followed an art style that focused on realism in a natural milieu, such as life for the social classes deemed lesser and of no beauty, which he would illuminate by depicting what occurs in their daily life, without idolizing it. Ultimately it was a reaction to the Romanticist movement, so his themes are often poorer people and the struggles they went through.

well this is also a great picture and this does not give it justice because its a HUGE painting and really overwhelming because of its sheer size. my sister recently decided to go fur free and i respect her more as a rational individual. i am a vegetarian and a conscious consumer, but fur has always been my weakness, something about a great pair of leather boots or jacket. .... so i though i would celebrate another post to faux fur and other great alternatives.
